Ripple’s Agricultural Program in Colombia Delivers Financial Inclusion & Sustainable Practices

Ripple has launched a groundbreaking program in Colombia to empower 300 sugarcane farmers through innovative financial solutions. This collaboration with Mercy Corps Ventures utilizes the XRPL platform, providing fast financing and transparency throughout the supply chain. The program highlights women’s empowerment by including 46% female participants and introduces a unique “Farm Now, Pay Later” model that helps manage planting costs upfront while settling debts after harvest. This approach enhances productivity and income stability for farmers. Beyond financial benefits, the initiative addresses the lack of access to formal credit and banking faced by many Colombian rural farmers, leading to increased agricultural efficiency.
