AFP Seizes $4.5 Million in Assets From Convicted Cybercriminal

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) have seized assets worth over $4.5 million from a convicted cybercriminal, Shane Duffy, as part of a lengthy investigation into his illegal activities. The assets, including a luxury mansion, a high-end car, and Bitcoin, were confiscated following his conviction for digital asset theft and hacking. 32-year-old Duffy was apprehended on charges related to stealing millions in bitcoin from a French crypto exchange in 2013, with the current value of those stolen assets exceeding $150 million. Duffy’s criminal history includes convictions for hacking Riot Games, the company behind the popular video game League of Legends.
