Vietnam and Thailand have taken their bilateral relations to a new level, formally establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership. This significant development was announced during Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s visit to Vietnam in May 2025. The partnership marks Thailand as Vietnam’s largest ASEAN trading partner, with trade targets of $25 billion set for the coming years. Joint Cabinet Retreat outcomes highlighted areas of focus including trade, law enforcement, and transport connectivity. These aims are expected to boost industry ties in areas like semiconductors and AI, while also promoting ease of import-export procedures and strengthening bilateral economic relationships. 🤝
