U.S. Unemployment Claims and PPI Decline in April

The U.S. unemployment claims situation remains stable, with the number of initial claims reaching 229,000 for the week ending May 10th, as per PANews. This figure remained unchanged from the previous week’s revised data of 228,000. Meanwhile, the Producer Price Index (PPI) showed a decline in April, recording an annual rate of 2.4%, marking three consecutive monthly drops and its lowest level since September of the year before. The PPI for April also decreased by 0.5% – the lowest in over two years. This figure fell significantly short of market expectations for a 0.2% rise.
