Coinbase Defies Ransom, Offers $20 Million Reward for Attacker Arrest

Coinbase rejected a $20 million ransom demand following a cyberattack that compromised less than 1% of its user base. Instead of paying the criminals, Coinbase is offering a substantial reward: $20 million to anyone who helps apprehend and prosecute those responsible. A key finding: India-based customer support agents were bribed into leaking sensitive data, leading to phishing scams targeting users.
