China Calls for End of US 232 Tariffs on Imports

In a recent press conference, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce voiced its concern regarding U.S. tariffs on imported goods. On May 15th, spokesperson He Yongqian addressed the implementation of Section 232 tariffs on automobiles, steel, aluminum, and the ongoing investigation into pharmaceuticals. The ministry views these actions as unilateral and protectionist, claiming they negatively impact other countries’ interests and disrupt the international trading order. China urges the U.S. to halt these tariffs and engage in constructive dialogue to address concerns.
