Tether Invests $458.7M in Bitcoin to Support Twenty One Capital’s Public Offering

Tether, a prominent stablecoin provider, has made a significant move by investing $458.7 million in Bitcoin for Twenty One Capital, an investment firm focused on cryptocurrency. This investment is crucial for Twenty One Capital as it prepares to go public through a merger with Cantor Equity Partners. 20 One’s recent acquisition pushes their total Bitcoin holdings to 36,312 BTC. The purchase comes after a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revealed Tether bought 4,812.2 BTC at an average price of $95,319 on May 9th, placing it in an escrow wallet. This investment aligns with Twenty One Capital’s strategy to invest heavily in Bitcoin before going public as a publicly-traded company.
