Nigeria’s Central Bank (CBN) has launched the Non-Resident Bank Verification Number (NRBVN) platform, aiming to boost financial inclusion for Nigerians residing abroad. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), simplifies BVN registration for non-residents by enabling them to obtain their unique BVN number remotely, eliminating the need for physical presence in Nigeria. “,The NRBVN platform, as announced by CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso, is expected to facilitate easier access to financial services for Nigerians globally and aims to achieve a monthly remittance flow of $1 billion. This milestone follows the introduction of the willing buyer, willing seller FX regime, which has positively impacted remittance flows.
