Investment firm VanEck has taken a significant step into the rapidly expanding world of Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization with the launch of its first fund. This fund, named VBILL, will offer investors exposure to US Treasury bills and is built in partnership with Securitize, a leading platform for tokenizing real-world assets. VanEck joins a growing list of traditional financial institutions entering this space, alongside rivals like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton. The VBILL fund offers access to the US Treasury market via various blockchain platforms, including Avalanche, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Solana, with minimum investments ranging from $100,000 for those on Avalanche and Solana to $1 million on Ethereum. This initiative adds VanEck to a growing list of firms capitalizing on the potential of RWA tokenization, which promises faster settlement times and increased liquidity for previously inaccessible assets.
