Uzbekistan Embarks on Digital Currency Pilot Project, Linking HUMO Token to Sovereign Bonds

Uzbekistan has launched a pilot program for the HUMO token, a state-backed digital currency pegged to the Uzbekistani sum (UZS) at a rate of 1:1,000. Unlike traditional cryptocurrencies susceptible to price fluctuations, HUMO’s value is directly tied to government-issued sovereign bonds, promising stability and fostering trust in digital payments across the nation. This initiative marks a crucial step in Uzbekistan’s economic digitization strategy, integrating blockchain technology into public financial services.
