SBI Holds Back on Ripple XRP Value, Expects Revaluation Upon IPO

Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings is refraining from including the value of its XRP holdings in its financials until a credible third-party valuation is provided or Ripple completes an initial public offering (IPO). The decision reflects SBI’s cautious approach regarding its investment in Ripple, despite the strong historical partnership between the two firms. This stance highlights SBI’s commitment to long-term value maximization for its digital asset portfolio. 10% ownership of Ripple, a strategic holding since 2012, will not be significantly impacted until Ripple achieves an official market valuation through an IPO or another approved appraisal.
