Robinhood Acquires WonderFi in Global Expansion Move

Financial technology firm Robinhood is acquiring Canada-based crypto company WonderFi for $179 million CAD in an all-cash deal. This move aims to significantly bolster Robinhood’s global presence as it seeks to expand its reach in the ever-growing cryptocurrency market. 250 million Canadian dollars will be paid for WonderFi, which operates two of Canada’s most established regulated crypto trading platforms – Bitbuy and Coinsquare – handling over $2.1 billion CAD worth of assets under custody.
