Dubai Embraces Crypto for Government Services: Towards a Digital Payment Future

Dubai is taking significant strides toward becoming a fully cashless city with the introduction of cryptocurrency payments for government services. The initiative, spearheaded by the Dubai Department of Finance (DOF), uses the Crypto.com platform to enable users to pay fees using various stable cryptocurrencies. 97% of all government payments were already processed digitally by the end of 2023, and this integration will further accelerate the city’s push towards a digital future. The DOF plans to implement its strategy for digitizing financial transactions in both public and private sectors, aiming to reach 90% adoption within 2026.
