Dell Deflects Bitcoin Proposal for Corporate Treasury

Dell has rejected a shareholder proposal seeking to integrate Bitcoin into its corporate treasury, according to PANews. In a letter dated May 9th, the company stated that proposals on complex matters can be excluded to prevent shareholders from making informed decisions and avoid micromanagement. The proposal’s proponents argued for utilizing Bitcoin as an investment alternative, aiming to outpace inflation in response to rising prices. However, Dell staff expressed concerns that mandating specific investment forms would overly restrict management’s flexibility in handling company funds and investments. This proposal, they argued, improperly limited the autonomy of management and the board in company governance decisions concerning investment strategy.
