Tether Faces US Jurisdiction Under New Stablecoin Act

Tether, Inc., despite being registered in the British Virgin Islands, will be subject to US regulatory jurisdiction under a new stablecoin act. This legislation effectively removes the influence of its country of registration and places all assets under a unified regulatory framework coordinated by US financial authorities. The bill differentiates stablecoins from securities and commodities, classifying them as payment tools.
