Gemini Secures MiFID II License, Expanding Derivatives in European Market

Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has secured a significant license from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), allowing it to offer derivative products across the European Economic Area (EEA). This expansion marks a major step for Gemini, which can now introduce perpetual futures and other derivatives within EU nations like Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. This move comes as competition intensifies in Europe’s derivatives market, where exchanges like Kraken and Coinbase have been actively expanding their presence.
