El Salvador Confirms Bitcoin Purchases Amidst IMF Deal Tensions

Despite a loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) stipulating that El Salvador cease using public funds to purchase Bitcoin, the country has continued its active acquisition of the cryptocurrency. Data from El Salvador’s Bitcoin Office reveals an additional seven BTC were acquired in the last week, boosting the nation’s total holdings to 6,173 BTC worth over $637 million. This strategy is seen as a model for other nations considering incorporating Bitcoin into their national reserves.
