Option Market Bets Against Fed Rate Cuts by 2025

The US options market is signaling a strong expectation that the Federal Reserve (Fed) will remain at its current 4.25% to 4.5% interest rate through 2025. This bearish bet is evident in a substantial put option contract on SOFR futures contracts for December 2025, with the strike price set at 95.6875, significantly lower than current market expectations of rate cuts before year-end.
