Gemini Expands Crypto Derivatives Trading in Europe

Crypto exchange Gemini, founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, has secured regulatory approval to launch crypto derivatives trading across the European Union and European Economic Area (EEA). The exchange received a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) license from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), allowing it to offer regulated derivatives within these regions. Gemini’s head of Europe, Mark Jennings, stated that this landmark authorization signifies a significant step towards offering derivatives to both retail and institutional customers.
