Sei Aims for Simplification with Proposed EVM-Based Architecture

Sei’s dual-architecture approach, supporting both Ethereum’s EVM and Cosmos’s WasmVM, has been successful in attracting users and developers. However, this complexity has also created significant challenges. A new proposal suggests streamlining Sei into a fully EVM-based chain to simplify development, infrastructure, and user experience. 85% of transaction volume on the network now originates from EVM addresses, according to on-chain analytics, highlighting the growing preference for this technology.
