Judge Grants Alex Mashinsky Permission to Travel for Daughter’s Wedding Ahead of Sentencing

A U.S. federal judge has granted permission for former Celsius Network CEO Alex Mashinsky to travel from New York to Memphis, Tennessee, between May 26 and May 29 for his daughter’s wedding, despite uncertainty surrounding his sentencing hearing. The decision was granted by Judge John Koeltl of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in a court filing on Wednesday. Mashinsky’s legal team had previously attempted to have charges dismissed, but ultimately pleaded guilty to commodity fraud and market manipulation related to Celsius’ native token, CEL, after abandoning plans to go to trial.
