Coinbase Acquires Deribit for $2.9 Billion Expansion in Crypto Derivatives Market

Coinbase has announced a landmark acquisition of Deribit, the leading cryptocurrency options exchange. This deal is valued at $2.9 billion and will see Coinbase pay $700 million in cash alongside 11 million shares of its own stock. The purchase aims to strengthen Coinbase’s position as a leader in the rapidly growing crypto derivatives market.
