Arizona Creates First U.S. State Bitcoin Reserve Using Abandoned Cryptocurrency

Arizona has taken a bold step towards embracing digital assets, becoming the first state in the US to launch a Bitcoin reserve using unclaimed cryptocurrency. Governor Katie Hobbs’ approval of a new law grants the state ownership of abandoned digital assets after three years of inactivity by owners. These assets will be managed independently without taxpayer funds, allowing for potential staking or airdrop participation that will contribute directly to Arizona’s newly established digital asset fund.
