Metaplanet Doubles Down on Bitcoin with $25 Million Investment

Japanese firm Metaplanet has doubled down on its Bitcoin holdings, investing another $25 million to acquire 555 BTC worth approximately $53.4 million. This move follows a trend of increased institutional interest in Bitcoin, as evidenced by the company’s previous significant purchases over the past five months. Metaplanet’s latest acquisition brings their total Bitcoin holdings to 5,555 BTC, valued around $465 million at an average purchase price of $86,672 per coin. 2024 saw Metaplanet formally adopt a Bitcoin strategy with the goal of reaching 10,000 BTC by year-end 2025.
