UK Treasury Rejects Bitcoin Reserve, Focuses on Collaboration with US on Crypto Regulation

The UK government has publicly rejected the idea of establishing a Bitcoin reserve. In a statement at the Financial Times Digital Asset Summit in London, Economic Secretary for the Treasury Emma Reynolds emphasized that the UK intends to focus its efforts on regulatory cooperation with the United States instead. The U.S., under President Trump’s leadership, has taken a different approach towards cryptocurrency policy, prioritizing the stockpiling of Bitcoin at the national level. However, the UK disagrees with this strategy, choosing instead to prioritize collaboration and coordination with the US on broader crypto regulation.
