Cannes Embraces Crypto for Everyday Commerce by Summer 2025

The French city of Cannes is taking a bold step towards integrating cryptocurrencies into everyday commerce. Local merchants in the tourist hotspot aim to accept crypto payments, driven by a commitment to cater to a high-net-worth crowd and tech-savvy travelers. According to Artem Shaginyan, founder and head of strategy at Web3 payment company Lunu Pay, Cannes’s goal is for 90% of shops to accept crypto payments by summer 2025. This forward-looking approach seeks to prove that crypto can work within real-world settings rather than being confined to online platforms or theoretical concepts.
