Metaplanet Invests $24.7 Million in Bitcoin, Launches U.S. Subsidiary for Major Expansion

Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has taken a major step towards its Bitcoin acquisition goals, raising $24.7 million through zero-interest bonds. The latest bond issuance, the company’s twelfth, will be allocated to expand holdings within their EVO FUND, specifically targeting an expansion to 10,000 BTC by year-end. Metaplanet started its Bitcoin journey in April 2024 and currently holds around 5,000 BTC valued at $484 million, highlighting the company’s dedicated approach towards cryptocurrency investment. 36Crypto reports that with their new bond issuance and upcoming expansion into the United States, Metaplanet is poised to become a major player in the Bitcoin market.
