EU Imposes New AML Rules on Private Tokens by 2027

The European Union (EU) is implementing stricter anti-money laundering (AML) rules, effective in 2027, that will ban anonymous cryptocurrency accounts and the use of privacy coins like Monero and Zcash. Exchanges, banks, and other service providers will face restrictions on their operations involving such assets.
