A significant legal victory for Epic Games has reshaped app store policies in the US. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers ruled that Apple must no longer charge fees for purchases made outside of its apps. This ruling immediately prohibits Apple from restricting developers from directing users to purchase these products elsewhere. While Apple plans to appeal, Epic Games is poised to relist Fortnite on the U.S. App Store next week. Apple has adjusted its App Review Guidelines in response, allowing apps to offer non-fungible token (NFT) services like minting and listing via in-app purchases. However, this option is restricted outside of the U.S. market. Crossmint, a crypto API development company, believes this ruling is crucial for the cryptocurrency industry as it allows apps to sell NFTs, tokens and other digital assets directly without sharing revenue with Apple.
