BlackRock Seeks SEC Approval for Blockchain Share Class

Blackrock has formally submitted an application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission seeking approval for a blockchain-based share class in its BLF Treasury Trust Fund. This initiative aims to leverage blockchain technology, specifically DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology), for short-term US Treasury securities investments. The fund will use collaboration with Bank of New York Mellon (BNY) to record stock ownership on the blockchain, streamlining fund operations and potentially enhancing transparency.
