Altcoin ETFs: Predicting Approval Chances for Next-Gen Tokens

Investment giants like Grayscale and Bitwise have spearheaded the application process for spot ETFs linked to popular altcoins, sparking debate over their potential arrival on the market. Bloomberg’s latest analysis sheds light on which tokens are poised for approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to their insights, Solana and Litecoin currently hold a strong lead with 90% and 90% probability respectively, while XRP follows closely at 85%. Dogecoin and Hedera stand out at 80%, followed by Cardano, Polkadot, and Avalanche, each with 75% estimations. This analysis reflects a surge in optimism compared to Bloomberg’s February outlook, which placed XRP’s approval likelihood at 65% and Solana’s at 70%. The consistent high probability for Litecoin speaks volumes about the continued investor confidence in this token. Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas further predicted that most decisions will likely occur in Q4 2025, however, he emphasized that early approvals are not off the table if regulatory developments unfold favorably in the coming months.
