Tether has made a significant move by acquiring a controlling 70% stake in Adecoagro, a South American sustainable agriculture and production company. This acquisition marks a key strategic shift for the company as it undergoes major board changes. Five departing board members are expected to be replaced by new appointees who will drive the company’s future strategy. Current board members include Manuela Vaz Artigas, Ivo Andrés Sarjanovic, Daniel González, and Mariano Bosch, all of whom hold crucial positions within the newly restructured company. Tether’s involvement with Adecoagro began in September 2024 with a $100 million investment that secured a 9.8% stake in the business.
