Microsoft and Meta are at the forefront of this shift, with both companies highlighting the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on software development. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed that AI currently contributes to 20% to 30% of their project code creation, a figure expected to rise further over time. Nadella emphasized that AI is gradually replacing some human roles within software engineering. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also took the stage at LlamaCon, where he announced their development of an AI model aiming to complete roughly half of their model-building tasks in the next year. Both CEOs agree on one thing: AI’s role in software development will expand significantly.
