Michael Saylor’s Strategy Buys $1.4 Billion in Bitcoin, Pushing Holdings to Over $50 Billion

Cryptocurrency giant Michael Saylor’s investment firm, Strategy, added a significant chunk of Bitcoin (BTC) to its holdings last week as the asset prices surged past $90,000. According to filings with the SEC, the firm acquired 15,355 BTC between April 21 and 27, at an average price of $92,737 per coin. This latest purchase cost Strategy $1.42 billion, bringing their total Bitcoin holdings to nearly $50 billion and making it one of the largest publicly-traded Bitcoin portfolios in the world. The surge follows a period where the cryptocurrency market saw significant bullish action last week, with BTC prices increasing by 8% from around $87,000 to nearly $94,000. 13.7% since the start of the year, Strategy’s Bitcoin has yielded 13.7% this year, according to Saylor.
