Hong Kong Police Report Surge in Investment Scams

Hong Kong police are investigating nearly 100 investment scam cases, leading to losses exceeding HK$90 million over the past week. An 84-year-old man has become a victim of this fraud, having been targeted by a scammer who posed as the CEO of a data company through WeChat. The suspect convinced him to transfer nearly HK$10 million across 14 transactions to their personal account.
