North Korean Hackers Create Fake Firms Targeting Crypto Developers

North Korea has escalated its hacking campaign, launching new schemes aimed at cryptocurrency developers. The Lazarus Group, a North Korean cybercrime group, created fake companies, Blocknovas LLC and Softglide LLC, posing as legitimate U.S.-based firms to lure unsuspecting individuals into applying for nonexistent jobs. These applicants were then tricked into downloading malware that compromised their personal information, including wallet details.
