UAE Regulator Warns Against False Claims in Government Tokenization Project

The Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and the Dubai Land Department (DLD) have issued a warning about entities falsely claiming involvement in the DLD Real estate tokenization pilot project. This alert comes after a successful partnership between the two authorities to link the real estate registry with property tokenization through an advanced governance system, aiming to enable fractional ownership of real estate assets and broader investor access to Dubai’s market. The Project officially launched on March 19th, 2025, in a limited pilot phase involving select approved participants by both DLD and VARA. Only entities explicitly granted approval by DLD and VARA are authorized to participate.** The authorities urge all entities marketing real estate tokenization projects in Dubai to ensure they hold the necessary licenses or have been authorized by relevant authorities.
