Nvidia Excludes Crypto Startups from Accelerator Program

Nvidia’s accelerator program has drawn boundaries, excluding cryptocurrency startups from joining its global network of founders. According to the program’s website, companies in the digital asset space are ineligible alongside consulting firms, cloud service providers, resellers and distributors, and publicly traded businesses. This move signals a shift in Nvidia’s stance on crypto startups within its accelerator program. Notably, in 2018, the company accepted Ubex, a blockchain and AI-powered startup for digital advertising, into its Inception program. Nvidia declined to comment on the eligibility policy. The Inception Program targets companies under ten years old, seeking to foster innovation. Known for their semiconductors, Nvidia’s technology powers data centers globally. This has also made their hardware popular among crypto miners. However, the company now appears to be focusing its efforts on more conventional applications of AI. Nvidia’s focus on responsible use cases of AI has led them to develop the H20 chip designed to comply with US export restrictions aimed at limiting China’s access to advanced AI hardware. Despite this move, it remains unclear how the shift will affect Nvidia’s sales in China and their overall market position.
