Solana Foundation Takes Steps Toward Increased Decentralization

The Solana Foundation has announced a new policy aimed at bolstering decentralization within its network. This change involves adjustments to the Delegation Program, where each new validator joining the network will be accompanied by three existing validators being removed if they have been eligible for foundation delegation on the mainnet for at least 18 months and possess less than 1,000 SOL staked outside of the foundation’s delegation. This initiative aims to reduce reliance on foundation-controlled delegation, promote community-based validator participation, and ultimately cultivate a more efficient and decentralized network.
