LAPD Recovers Millions in Stolen Bitcoin Mining Equipment During Cargo Theft Arrest

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has recovered over $3.9 million in stolen goods, including $2.7 million worth of bitcoin mining computers intercepted at LAX. Two suspects, Oscar David Borrero-Manchola and Yonaiker Rafael Martinez-Ramos, were arrested following an investigation into a South American cargo theft ring. The seized equipment was destined for Hong Kong when it was intercepted during loading procedures.
