Vitalik’s Proposal: Replacing EVM with RISC-V to Boost Ethereum Scalability

Ethereum’s scalability remains a key challenge, currently limited to 14-15 TPS. Newer L1 blockchains like Solana and Sui can process up to 100k TPS or more. Now, Vitalik Buterin proposes switching from the EVM language to RISC-V architecture. This could dramatically increase efficiency by a factor of 100, boosting Ethereum’s scalability, and potentially leading to cheaper transactions. But what exactly are EVM and RISC-V, and why is this change beneficial for Ethereum?
