Unicoin Refuses SEC Settlement Talks, Citing ‘Unacceptable’ Demands

Miami-based cryptocurrency company Unicoin has refused to participate in settlement discussions aimed at resolving the ongoing SEC investigation. CEO Alex Konanykhin communicated this stance in a letter to investors, stating that the demands made by the SEC were deemed unacceptable. The decision follows Unicoin receiving a Wells notice last December from the SEC, indicating an impending enforcement action. This news follows a period of heightened scrutiny within the cryptocurrency market as recent investigations into prominent companies like Immutable and OpenSea have stalled or been reevaluated.
