DeFi protocol MANTRA is taking a significant step to restore trust and strengthen its economic structure. The company has initiated the burning of 150 million $OM tokens, with the process expected to be completed by April 29th. These unstaked tokens will be sent to a designated burn address and permanently removed from circulation, according to an official announcement. 150 million tokens are being burnt in this effort. This initiative comes after MANTRA’s value plummeted over 90% within the last 24 hours in mid-April, impacting its community trust. The $OM token burn is designed to boost network security and improve economic stability following this significant drop. 150 million tokens will be burned. The team also confirms that their CEO, John Patrick Mullin, is participating by burning his full allocation of 150 million OM. This follows his public commitment to relinquish all team-held tokens as part of a broader burn initiative. In addition, MANTRA says it is actively collaborating with ecosystem partners to conduct an additional 150 million $OM token burn. This will increase the total amount burnt to 300 million tokens. The burn process can be followed via on-chain transaction hashes provided by MANTRA, and full verification of the burn will be made publicly available.
