Canadian Billionaire Calls Bitcoin a Speculative Tool

Renowned Canadian entrepreneur Frank Giustra has voiced his belief that Bitcoin is purely speculative, lacking the characteristics of real-world assets like gold. In a recent interview, Giustra argued: “Bitcoin has not proven its qualities to be those of gold; it’s just speculation. We can hope for it to resemble gold in the future, but that’s a gamble.” Giustra’s perspective is rooted in his strong belief that Bitcoin has never acted as a safe-haven asset. He envisions gold as a protector of wealth rather than an instrument for trading or speculative gains. “Gold should be a small part of everyone’s portfolio – 10-15%. It’s not too late to buy, but keep in mind it’s not intended for short-term profit; hold it for long-term protection. If you want fast riches, go into risk/speculation – then Bitcoin becomes the tool.” Giustra observed that Bitcoin has consistently exhibited a behavior that mirrors risk-taking, failing to demonstrate the qualities associated with gold. He also asserts that the Bitcoin narrative has diverged significantly from its initial white paper’s principles.
