US Prosecutors Remain Committed to SafeMoon CEO Trial Despite DOJ Memo

Despite a recent Justice Department memo suggesting a shift away from prosecution of digital asset cases, US prosecutors will proceed with their case against Braden John Karony, the former CEO of cryptocurrency firm SafeMoon. This decision follows an April 18 filing by US Attorney for EDNY John Durham stating that he intends to continue pursuing the trial despite the DOJ’s memo. Karony faces charges related to alleged misappropriation of funds from SafeMoon’s SFM token between 2021 and 2022.
