Slovenia Proposes 25% Crypto Tax, Spark Debate on Innovation and Talent Flow

Slovenia is considering a new law that would impose a 25% tax on cryptocurrency profits from fiat currency conversions and purchases. This proposal has stirred debate among experts about its potential impact on the country’s crypto scene and the future of its crypto-friendly image. The draft law aims to levy this tax on all sales of cryptocurrency for goods or services, but exempts transfers between wallets of the same user, as well as mining and staking activities, which will be taxed if considered a source of income.
