Slovenia Plans High Crypto Tax, Potentially Slowing Growth

Slovenia is set to increase its grip on crypto profits with a new proposed law imposing a 25% tax on trading gains starting January 1, 2026. This follows the country’s earlier introduction of a 10% withdrawal tax in 2023. The measure aims to generate additional revenue for the nation. However, experts warn that this potentially heavy taxation may deter investors, leading to a slowdown in Slovenia’s crypto sector.
