Telegram Founder Denies Detention Claims in France

Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, has vehemently denied claims of detention by French authorities last year, as reported by Foresight News. Durov refuted these assertions on his official Telegram channel, stating that the reports are inaccurate and that Telegram consistently complies with EU regulations. He further explained that it wasn’t until August 2022 that French authorities commenced using legal channels under the Digital Services Act (DSA) to request information, only after court orders were issued to obtain suspects’ IP addresses lawfully. Durov questioned why French police hadn’t pursued these actions previously according to established regulations.
