Swedish MP Proposes Bitcoin Reserve Amid Global Crypto Adoption Surge

A Swedish lawmaker is pushing for the establishment of a national Bitcoin reserve, arguing that Sweden should embrace the burgeoning cryptocurrency space as a forward-thinking nation. Dennis Dioukarev, a member of the Riksdag representing the Sweden Democrats, proposed this strategy to Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson in the form of a formal inquiry. He highlighted the increasing global interest in Bitcoin and cited the U.S.’s recent move to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve using seized funds as a precedent for similar action in Sweden.
