A widespread outage affecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) on April 15th impacted numerous centralized crypto exchanges (CEXs), leading to disruptions in trading and withdrawals for over a dozen platforms. Binance, Kucoin, MEXC, and other prominent exchanges experienced technical issues due to AWS’ service failure, causing temporary halts on withdrawals as users faced connectivity problems. Binance, after reporting the issue, resumed withdrawals within five minutes, but trading services remained sluggish until further recovery. 12 different AWS services were impacted, including Binance, Kucoin, and MEXC. While some exchanges reported issues such as abnormal candlestick charts and delays in asset transfers, all users have confirmed their funds are safe.
